Schön Faria, RMT is a Registered Massage Therapist originally from Toronto. She graduated from ICT Kikkawa College in 2009 and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
In 2014 Schön and her husband Steve moved to Mabou Coal Mines, fulfilling a life-long dream to live in Cape Breton. They now have 2 fantastic children and couldn’t be happier with their decision.
Schön took a detour from her Massage Therapy career to raise her children, work at Brook Village Grocery, L’Arche Cape Breton, and Bayview Child Development Centre. At Bayview Child Development Centre she pursued further education and received her Diploma as an Early Childhood Educator.
Schön’s philosophy of care is based in the belief that returning the body to the “Rest and Digest” state of the parasympathetic nervous system allows for optimal healing. She intentionally facilitates a calm, soothing environment. Her massage style is fluid and intuitive; with levels of pressure catered to each client.
Schön believes the ethics of being a Massage Therapist is a sacred trust between her and her clients, maintaining clear communication, consent, and confidentiality. She listens carefully to her clients to build treatment goals collaboratively.

I’m Janet MacDonald (MacKay), and I’ve recently returned home to Inverness with my husband, Jamie. As a mother of four adult children and grandmother to three, I understand the many challenges life can bring.
With over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, I specialize in helping individuals, groups, and workplaces navigate mental health challenges. I hold specialized training from the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Canadian Mental Health Commission, equipping me to provide care tailored to your needs.
I’m also the author of Send Suicide Packing—There’s Something We All Can Do To Help, a book inspired by my family’s journey after our 20-year-old daughter survived a suicide attempt. Through this experience, I’ve gained invaluable insights into managing life’s challenges.
Using my nursing expertise, I guide clients in identifying stressors and developing practical strategies to manage the stress in their life. Some of these strategies may include:
• Breathing exercises to relax the mind and body
• Mindfulness practices to stay grounded and present
• Time management strategies for better life balance
• Sleep hygiene tips for more restful nights
• Challenging negative thoughts to retrain our thinking to positive
• Exercise as a tool to improve both mental and physical well-being
Let’s make reducing stress a priority in your life!
